Jamaica Plain real estate has found its place in the hearts and minds of many visitors, and residents of Greater Boston over the past few decades.
The neighborhood of Jamaica Plain has seen a remarkable evolution over recent years, and it’s no wonder. Jamaica Plain real estate is some of the most sought after in the Greater Boston area.
Jamaica Plain offers a huge number of amenities for residents, including:
Jamaica Plain real estate has risen to the very top of many homebuyer’s lists of ideal neighborhoods to purchase. If you’re looking for a completely unique neighborhood within the City of Boston, you’ve found your place here.
Beautiful vistas of the Emerald Necklace, friendly neighbors, and all the dining options one could desire, who couldn’t love JP!?
selection of fresh, natural food is unmatched, making it one of my go-to spots for groceries. Better yet, they also have a great café and deli counter for picking up a quick lunch or breakfast. The smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel is a delicious way to start the day.
is the definition of somewhere that has it all. Not only is it a terrific tapas spot, but it also has a cute book and music store at the back of the restaurant. The tapas menu is extensive, and there’s lots of great wine to go with the food. They also offer a weekend brunch menu with many tasty Spanish-style small plates. (Those churros con chocolate are on another level!)
is one of Jamaica Plain’s hippest brunch and dinner spots that always guarantees a good time. The menu features elevated comfort classics and charcuterie platters alongside creative fare such as swordfish masala. The drinks are just as impressive as the food, with 30 rotating beer taps and a fantastic wine selection. Cheers!
does farm-to-table dining with style, and everything on the menu is locally sourced and expertly prepared. I love sharing a plate of seared octopus before tucking into an entrée of lamb loin, seafood stew, or mouthwatering steak. Ten Tables also carries plenty of vegan options, including an exceptionally tasty lentil stew, so all my plant-based friends love it just as much as I do.
The path surrounding this picturesque pond is one of my favorite places to get my blood pumping with a jog or relax with a leisurely walk. Jamaica Pond is part of Boston’s Emerald Necklace of parks (it looks just as pretty as it sounds!) and has been a landmark of the community since the 1850s. Talk about history.
Arnold Arboretum is another link in Boston’s Emerald Necklace. Like Jamaica Pond, this huge park was designed by the famous architect Frederick Law Olmsted, who also designed New York’s Central Park. This gorgeous space features thousands of trees and flowering plants. I love visiting on Lilac Sunday (the second week in May) and enjoying a picnic with my fellow Bostoners.
A cemetery may not be the most obvious place to enjoy a leisurely afternoon, but trust me—Forest Hills is a stunning place to explore. Forest Hills was designed as a garden cemetery, and its grounds feature many beautiful trees and sculptures.
Jamaica Plain’s First Thursday Scavenger Hunts are a great way to explore all the neighborhood’s local businesses and make you feel like a kid again! This hi-tech scavenger hunt involves downloading an app that gives you clues on which businesses to visit. When you find the right place, you’ll be rewarded with special discounts and gifts. Shops stay open late for this fun community event.
